Ace Waterworks & Chlorination5 min read
Chlorination proves you treated the line. Bacteriological testing proves the water is ready to drink. Inspectors will not sign a potable system into service on residual logs alone—they want a state-certified lab result that names the organisms that matter.
Our technicians collect samples after the flush, using sterile bottles, proper dechlorinating agent in the vial, and chain-of-custody that survives an audit. We submit for Total Coliform, E. coli, and heterotrophic plate count (HPC), then transmit the digital report to the inspector, GC, and owner at the same time you receive it.
A sample is only as honest as the tap it came from. We flame or disinfect the sample point, run the line, and never fill a bottle from a threaded aerator that has been sitting in a toolbox.
What the lab is actually looking for
Total Coliform is the screening indicator. E. coli is the health-significance flag. HPC speaks to overall bacterial load after disinfection and stagnation. Together they tell an inspector whether the new work is a clean system or a line that still needs another round of treatment.
- Certified collection at representative fixtures and dead-ends
- Total Coliform, E. coli, and HPC on a 24–48 hour turnaround
- Digital reports routed to inspectors and the project team
Turnaround you can schedule against
Most panels return within 24 to 48 hours of collection. If a result is positive, we already know the isolation points and residual history from the chlorination visit—so a re-dose and re-sample can be staged without rebuilding the whole sequence from scratch.
